Fredrik Lindell is PATCH

Fredrik Lindell - vocals, guitars, bass, drums, synths and drum programming, production and engineering

Where did this guy come from? That was the question we all asked at Tag Team when we saw the new drummer of the hazardous, rowdy roadshow that is the Submissionaries. Later in the fall we asked ourselves the same question when he all of a sudden started to play with one-man-band prodigy Arrows Made of Desire. What else will this Swede come up with? How to turn lead into gold?

The fact is: multi-instrumentalist Fredrik Lindell seems to be a little bit of everywhere, albeit being almost impossible to find. Running around the country in a god-knows-what line of work does not seem to stop him from playing with our little darlings at Tag Team, and when we found that he has his own outfit Patch, we could hardly resist to squeeze a couple of songs out of him.

Patch (originally titled the less legally correct “Patch, and My Niece – Princess Leia”) is Fredrik’s own fiefdom, where he writes, sings, plays and produces his music together with the odd friend who dares to venture into his realm.

This is where Elliot Smith wakes up to find Meshuggah in his kitchen. Where Aphex Twin goes into the hot tub with Billy Talent. Where Grayham Coxon joins a Minor Threat with Tori Amos on backing vocals. A strange crowd, ey? Just wait till ya' meet him at a gig. Now that is strange!

Having gathered a small following on Swedish Campus radio, he graced the commercial airwaves in 2001 with the full length release “Kill Your Darling” and has continued to bring forth an eclectic mix of lo-fi pop and chilling synthetic music ever since.

Tag Team is proud to present a small sample of Patch's songs. Download a couple. Dim the lights. Make yourself comfy. And enter the world of Patch. Welcome, we know you will like it here.

Work in Process in Beijing - 2006

"Here are some of the songs written in Beijing so far, that are not played through other bands. Mail me if you want access to the newest stuff.

'Lost at Sea' is about living in your own world and not the one outside our gloomy windows while 'City of Sin' is the complete opposite: a view on beautiful Beijing."

Patch - Too Little, Too Late 2005

Too Little, Too Late - 2005

"This album took a lot of effort and predates my leave for China. With the death of a friend and the loss of another darkening the sky, I chose to bundle a couple of songs without any major production. This left an ambivalent and barren album. I am not sure whether I like it, and it still manages to scare me when played."

2003 EPs

2003 EPs

"2003 was a productive year when both Take Nothing For Granted and A Beginning of Something New were made. Where the first CD ruminated on how to get out of a very destructive relationship, the latter was a more aggressive effort. When looking back I see songs full of lies, deceit and two pitch-black years of nothingness."
