Jim Walsh and Matt Bruns are Everybody. Hailing from Bloomington, Indiana, Everybody are the newest addition to Tag Team’s ever more cosmopolitan roster. Drawing on such diverse influences as Karlheinz Stockhausen, Nick Drake, Simon and Garfunkel, the Animal Collective, Olivia Tremor Control and children’s literature, Everybody make space age chamber music for luddites - re-examining life through a prism of childlike wonder and revealed truths. Friends since childhood, Jim and Matt have been recording together since the age of 12. At the last count, Jim claims that they have amassed 232 demos, recorded in various bedrooms and continents. Frankly we think he’s lying about that, but don’t care - we’re so excited by the demos we have heard.
Having been in China for six months - working undercover for French intelligence, we suspect [Jim kinda looks like a French overlord, but we know for fact that he eats Chili Dogs] - Jim recently returned to a no-doubt tearful reunion with Matt and a well-insulated studio where they will be transferring some of their musical plans from their alarmingly fecund brains into plastic boxes full of silicon, via an astonishing collection of instruments and perfectly matched harmonies from Mars. These should give you an idea of the brilliant diversity of Everybody’s music. However Robotte and Aegean Arms are only representative of their excellence, but not of their body of work as a whole, for the simple reason that there is nothing 'representative' about their music. Every song somehow manages the feat of being its own independent self-contained universe whilst at the same time meshing with all the other universes in the Everybody cosmos...
