In other news, Paul Kendall [recently voted 'Best Music Journalist in the World Ever' by an impartial panel of Tag Team lackeys] has done us proud again with a huge spread on Arrows Made of Desire mover and shaker Joewi Verhoeven in this month's Time Out. Speaking of Joewi, sometime ago we made a rather flip mention of the fact that he'd been in NYC doing something with jazz/drone-rock god Glenn Branca. We were vague on the details and closed with a rather lame joke about hair. Well, Joewi is now back, and has filled us in. We are (somehow) suitably impressed. Joewi and, it has to be admitted, some other musicians were involved in a performance and recording of Branca's 13th Symphony, conducted by John Meyers. This'll be available for your home listening pleasure sometime this year on Cantaloupe Records. As soon as we know when, you can be sure that you will too, though we're still pissed that Joewi didn't return to Beijing with a Jazz-Rock-Mullet and an eel skin sports jacket with the sleeves rolled up...

An expectant nation will finally be satiated, breaths will be released. Yes - Lonely China Day’s perception-altering, self-titled EP will finally be available in the U.S. on March 7, 2006. Our American cousins can always gain valuable kudos by ordering it on line - right here!. Of course, ’hipsters’ in China don’t even have to wait that long - it’s already adorning shelves in the land of the Socialist Market Economy now!

As if that wasn’t enough, Lonely China Day [recently voted ’Comeliest Band on Tag Team’] are currently mastering their new long player, to be titled Sorrow. Lucky punters this side of the bamboo curtain will be able to get their grubby, barely-worthy, hands on it sometime this summer. Slightly less lucky Yankees will have to wait for the autumn (or ’Fall’, if you prefer). Judging by new material heard at gigs around town Deng Pei’s shipment of prozac finally cleared customs.

Recent signings Arrows Made of Desire have finished recording their Tag Team debut LP and are currently holed-up in an extremely unsanitary practice space working out the kinks for their live show which will feature members of The Submissionaries [sobriety permitting]. The LP, entitled Songs That Sell Fish is being mixed, sequenced and mastered by Deng Pei, who apparently isn’t kept busy enough by LCD. China-siders should look for this in all the usual spots on April 28th. Americans will just have to live in a state of suspense for a while... or visit our ubiquitously mentioned Online Store on the afore-mentioned date. We believe that you’re all whip-smart enough to pick up on the best option. Does that make us naïve?

In other news, Arrows Made of Desire cupid-in-chief Joewi Verhoeven is currently in New York City with Jeff from Car Sick Cars doing something with Glen Branca. We're not clear on all the details [the little bastard doesn't write or call], we're just hoping he doesn't return with Jazz-Rock Hair.

The ever volatile Submissionaries...
